Superb and Thick Crystalline Leaf Gold Nugget - Eugene Mountains

A thinner crystalline gold nugget that is almost leaf gold and it has a very high gold content at 95% and some interesting layering. This is a piece I picked up from a local prospector who detects gold in and around the Eugene Mountains in Nevada. Crystalline gold is a category all its own but is often confused with gold crystals. Crystalline gold generally has a very course structure and like gold crystals, the gold is usually associated with quartz. It differs from gold crystals in that there is no defined crystal structure i.e. trigon or octahedron formations.
