This is a gorgeous gold crystal from the jungles of Venezuela. The shape resembles a whale. You can see the head, body, top fin and tail. It is not often that you see natural gold nuggets in such distinct shapes like this. This incredible gold specimen was recovered in Zapata, just outside of Ikabaru, near Santa Elena de Uairen in Venezuela. It was purchased from a man who buys them from the Venezuelan miners who make their living recovering these gorgeous gold crystals (they are called "cochanos") in the jungle.
